\nSelf Employed Program
\nThe first program I would talk about today is the Self-Employed Program. As the name implies, Self-employed Persons Program allows people to immigrate to Canada permanently as a self-employed person. And, the processing time for this program is a duration of 22 months.
\nIf you\u2019re interested in this program, you must:<\/p>\n

have relevant experience in cultural activities or athletics and
\nbe willing and able to make a significant contribution to the cultural or athletic life of Canada<\/p>\n

Definitions
\nRelevant experience\u00a0for a self-employed person means at least two years of experience. It must be during the period starting 5 years before the day you apply and ending on the day we make a decision on your application. You can get more points if you have 3, 4, or 5 years of experience.
\nAt a minimum, your experience must be:<\/p>\n

for cultural activities:<\/p>\n

2 one-year periods being self-employed in cultural activities, or
\n2 one-year periods participating at a world-class level in cultural activities, or
\na combination of a one-year period described in (a), and a one-year period described in (b)<\/p>\n

for athletics:<\/p>\n

2 one-year periods being self-employed in athletics, or
\n2 one-year periods participating at a world class level in athletics, or<\/p>\n

a combination of a one-year period described in (a) above, and a one-year period described in (b) above.
\nStart-Up Visa Program
\nThe next program is known as the Start-Up Visa. Let us find out how to immigrate to Canada by starting a business and creating jobs, or support innovative entrepreneurs. The processing time for this program is 12-16 months. Canada\u2019s Start-up Visa Program targets immigrant entrepreneurs with the skills and potential to build businesses in Canada that:<\/p>\n

are innovative
\ncan create jobs for Canadians
\ncan compete on a global scale<\/p>\n

Do you have an innovative business idea? If you can get support for your idea from one of the\u00a0designated organizations, you may be able to immigrate to Canada. While your application for permanent residence is being processed, you can apply for a temporary work permit to get to Canada and start building your business.
\nWho can apply
\nTo be eligible for the Start-up Visa Program, you must:<\/p>\n

have a qualifying business
\nget a letter of support from a designated organization
\nmeet the language requirements
\nbring enough money to settleRural and Northern Pilot Program
\nThe last major program is the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot which is also a community-driven program. It\u2019s designed to spread the benefits of economic immigration to smaller communities by creating a path to permanent residence for skilled foreign workers who want to work and live in one of the\u00a0participating communities. Moreover, it is a potential\u00a0alternative Canadian immigration option\u00a0for people who have struggled through other immigration pathways, such as\u00a0Express Entry. Candidates who are interested in applying must make sure that they meet the\u00a0federal requirements\u00a0for the program, plus the\u00a0requirements set out by each community. This includes an eligible job offer from an employer in one of the participating communities. There are currently ten communities accepting applications through the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP) with the latest addition being the region of North Bay, Ontario.\u00a0Others are;<\/p>\n
