Out of these huge number of applicants, Nigerians are predicted to be in the second position after India who have been the topmost foreign nationals who have consistently been in the first place for previous years. In the years 2018 and 2019, India, Nigeria and China have led other countries’ applicants in the Express Entry pool.
Past Yearly Draws
According to the CIC report, 85,300 Invitations to Apply were issued in 2019, with 40,275 of those ITAs going to Express Entry candidates with Indian citizenship. Meanwhile, 5,886 ITAs were issued to citizens of Nigeria, and another 5,668 issued to citizens of China, equal to approximately seven percent of total ITAs, respectively.
Indian, Chinese, and Nigerian citizens also represented the top three countries of citizenship to receive ITAs through Express Entry in 2018. All three countries maintained approximately the same proportion of ITAs from 2018 to 2019. Indians edged up one percentage point from 46 to 47 percent, while Nigerians narrowly edged out China for the number two spot, leap-frogging forward from the previous year.
This Year’s Draws
For this year’s lists of Canadian Immigration’s Express Entry draw, the number of Invitations to Apply (ITAs) issued amounted to 107,350, a record-high number of invitations. The minimum Express Entry cutoff score reduced slightly from the previous two rounds on December 23. Canada invited 5,000 immigration applicants with a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of at least 468. The new CRS requirement is just slightly lower than the previous draw on December 9, when candidates needed a minimum score of 469.Yesterday’s draw was the fourth consecutive invitation round to issue 5,000 ITAs for Canadian permanent residence. There was a consistent increase in the number of ITAs issued in all-program Express Entry draws since September 2.Coronavirus 2019 Effect
During the Coronavirus pandemic, its lockdown and the most stringent travel restrictions, IRCC only conducted program-specific draws. Since then, and despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Government of Canada has taken steps to facilitate immigration processes for most of its programs and to ensure the continued selection of skilled workers for permanent residence.Express Entry is Canada’s immigration application management system for three federal economic-class programs: Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, and Canadian Experience Class.
Candidates in these programs, as well as some Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs), are given a score based on the CRS. Points are awarded depending on a candidate’s human capital factors such as age, education, work experience, and language ability in English or French.
The highest-scoring candidates receive an ITA, which they can then use to apply for Canadian permanent residence.Canada Express Entry
For those who do not yet know what Express Entry is all about. It is the most identifiable way you can achieve your dream of migrating to Canada. It is a point-based Canada immigration program that allows you to move with or without your family members to Canada within 6 months or less.
In order to enter the federal Express Entry pool, candidates must first meet the eligibility requirements for one of the three programs: the Federal Skilled Worker Class; the Federal Skilled Trades Class; and the Canadian Experience Class.
In order to enter the federal Express Entry pool, candidates must first create an Express Entry profile. A job offer is not required to enter or be selected from the Express Entry pool although additional CRS points are awarded to those who already have a job.
A certain number of the highest-ranked candidates who have submitted their profiles into the pool are issued Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for Canadian permanent residence through regular draws which typically take place every two weeks.
Based on your personal information you will be given a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. Your CRS is a numerical value, out of a possible 1,200, determined by your core human capital. This is essentially your age, work experience, educational background, ability to adapt and language skills (see we told you your IELTS and TEF/TCF scores are important!).
Once your profile has been completed and your CRS has been calculated, you will be placed into a pool of candidates ranked by their CRS score. The Canadian federal government and the provincial and territorial governments regularly draws candidates from this pool to issue ITAs based on particular needs and shortages in the country or provinces. After issued ITA, you will be required to submit your medical report, police clearance certificate and proof of funds to show that you do not have any terminal illnesses, criminal records and sufficient money to take care of yourself and family in Canada. Likewise, you will provided with about 2 months to move to Canada if you satisfactorily provide all documents and funds. We, @ A.O.S Migration Agency, help you to go through all these steps seemlessly and we are just a call or chat away from you.
