IRCC clients have waited so long to get the standards of the Canada immigration pathway – Express Entry to get back to normal after Covid19. Now, the Minister of Immigration: Sean Fraser is now assuring us with an affirmative update on the CIC website that the complete Express Entry (EE) draws will resume in few months (2 months) or even weeks (less than 10 weeks) time, that is exactly in early July. Moreso, IRCC has welcome over 108,000 permanent residents in early 2022 already.
Normal Processing Times
In fact, IRCC is now confident that their immigration backlog would have been resolved completely or close to completion after the first half of this year 2022. In other words, they would be able to go back to their legal timelines with Express entry applications taking only 6 months to process instead of the near 24 months threshold as of the years 2020 and 2021. This is a measure that helps Canada to address the huge labor shortage it is currently facing.Your Initial Plans

How to Get Ready?
I know of some candidates who took IELTS and TEF Canada tests a couple of times and got their medicals done again in order to get valid documents ready anytime Canada is getting set to start drawing Express entry pools again. If you’re one of them, I congratulate you for being resilient all through the attempts. For others, you can join in to get all these requirements sorted, you still have up to 2 months (May and June) to prepare well.What can be Expected?
No doubt, the rankings will be fierce for the first rounds of selection. Although, for the past FSWP draws especially those around late 2019 and early 2020, the thresholds were around the 460s and 470s. We can be looking at the CRS scores increasing to record heights for the first draws with 500 and 600 points. So, if you’re gaming again for FSWP, you should work on attaining such score feats.
How did we get such Predictions?
In the 2022 Canadian Immigration plans, Sean Fraser aims to welcome 55,900 new immigrants into the country through Express Entry, without the high range target. And, if he is to be recommencing the FSWP draws in early July and following the previous 2 weeks draw timeline, that means from that month to December 2022, he can pool a total of 14 draws picking around 3,992 in each draw.More Statistics to Play With
As of the last PNP draw in April 27, 2022, the CRS score distribution of candidates in the Express Entry pool were having CRS score range and Number of candidates as shown above. Taking a step backwards to look at the final draws pooled around December 2020 before the halt in FSWP draws show that 5,000 invitations were the highest done at once.
The Hopes to Lean on
So, if IRCC follows the same Express Entry standards for the July draws, we can only assume logically that candidates in the 500 – 1200 CRS points will be picked first, 491 – 600 picked next in the second draw before going down to the 481 – 490 scores and it will take this whole year to round off selecting these candidates before going down as low to the 450 point range.Some Other Possibilities
We should not rule out the possible positive surprise that IRCC can actually do to compensate for their almost 2 years halt in the FSWP invitations. What we mean by this is that they can decide to pool massive draws for specific programs separately or even targeted occupations based on some in-demand professions with certain NOC codes in the FSWP and CEC programs increasing chances of selecting candidates in the 480, 490, 500 ranges and lesser. Such surprises have been seen by both the Federal Government and Provinces when they created new PR streams to welcome French speakers and Ontario lowered its CRS scores to invite more candidates for easy massive selection.
CEC Candidates Selection
For those who are already in Canada and have some months or years of experience working and/or studying there, you would also be able to stay back and become permanent residents as well once you are able to show your academic qualifications and professional experiences together with your test scores of English and/or French. The scores for selection for this category too maybe high at first but will get normalized sooner than expected predictably. More Good News
The high scores will not always be like that. Express entry programs are known to always reduce their CRS cutoffs from time to time.
