How Valid is IELTS or TEF/TCF Canada Test Report Form/Result and What is in it/them?

It is no more news that whenever you are thinking or planning of studying, working or living abroad as an international student or a skilled professional, language tests like IELTS, TOEFL, TEF/TCF Canada becomes imperative to show your English and French language proficiencies. In today’s article, we would like to educate you, however, on the cues you need to know about the results, the duration of time it takes for your test results to expire after getting them, the contents of the test results, and even how to verify its authenticity online through recognized organisations be it a school or company.
IELTS Test Report Form
Most of what you would see on popular websites online is that:
An IELTS result or Test Report Form is issued to all test takers with a score from “band 1” (“non-user”) to “band 9” (“expert user”) and each institution sets a different threshold. Institutions are advised not to consider a report older than two years to be valid, unless the user proves that they have worked to maintain their level.
The Contents of your Report Form
However, the test report form is more than that and we would like to show you how well structured it is. To start from the top to the bottom, the paper is titled IELTS Test Report Form and the IELTS logo is written on it with its TM sign. Without that, your result can be considered as fake. At the left hand side of that title declaration is the type of test taken by the candidate be it General Training, Academic Training or Life Skills – United Kingdom Visas and Immigration (UKVI).The Remarks on the Report
Afterwards, you would see a NOTE below the type stating that: “Admission to undergraduate and post graduate courses should be based on the ACADEMIC Reading and Writing Modules.GENERAL TRAINING Reading and Writing Modules are not designed to test the full range of language skills required for academic purposes. It is recommended that the candidate’s language ability as indicated in this Test Report Form be re-assessed after two years from the date of the test.” This message is quite useful for reference for the schools, colleges and organizations that want to use your test report type as a basis to either admit you to their programs or give you a job offer.
Your Candidate Details
Next, the bio-data of the candidate who took the test and the test location details including the Centre Number, Test Date, Candidate Number, his/her Family name, First Name(s), Candidate ID, the passport photograph (at the right-hand side of the paper), Date of Birth, Sex(M/F), Scheme Code, Country or Region of Origin, Country of Nationality and First Language. This list is followed immediately by the Test Results for each skill – Listening, Reading, Writing, Speaking and Overall Band Score with its Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) Level, Administrator Comments, Centre stamp, Validation stamp, Administrator’s Signature, Date and Test Report Form Number in that exact order.How to Confirm the Report’s Validity

Here, in order to check the full validity of the result, the Test Report Form Number is used. At the footnote region of the certificate, the emblem and lettermark logos of the three governing bodies of IELTS test – British Council, idp Australia and Cambridge Assessment English, are boldly drawn. Lastly, the following sentence is written below the logos “The validity of this IELTS Test Report Form can be verified online by recognizing organisations at http://ielts.ucles.org.uk. All over the test report form, the word IELTS is written in form of a watermark all throught the paper. At at the flip-side of the report, all the Band scores, their corresponding usernames and brief explanations of the levels are written for band scores 0-9. At the tail end of the paper, it writes, “British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia and Cambridge English Language Assessment reserve the right to cancel any IELTS test result.”

On the other hand, TEF Canada test result is known as “Attestation de Résultats AU TEST D’ÉVALUATION DE FRANҪAIS POUR LE CANADA” which is its title boldly written atop with the emblem and lettermark logos of the governing bodies of the test and the test name – LE FRANҪAIS DES AFFAIRES ‘FRENCH FOR BUSINESS’, CCI PARIS ILE-DE-FRANCE EDUCATION and TEST D’ÉVALUATION DE FRANҪAIS. Afterwards, the details of the candidate is written below such as Nom ‘Surname’, Prénom ‘First/Given name(s)’, Date de naissance ‘Date of Birth’, Numéro d’inscription ‘registration number’, date de session ‘test date’, centre ‘center’ and signature.TEF Canada Format and Band Scores
Understanding the e-TEF test format, the test scores are indicated in a table of about 4 rows and 5 columns – showing Épreuve ‘test skills’: Compréhension écrite ‘reading’, Compréhension orale ‘listening’, Expression écrite ‘writing’ and Expression orale ‘speaking’; Score TEF / 699, Équivalence ancient score ‘old equivalent score of each skill: CE/300, CO/360, EE/450 and EO/450; Niveau ‘levels’ be it A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 or C2. At the back of the test result sheet, the emblem and lettermark logos of the governing bodies of the test and the test name – LE FRANҪAIS DES AFFAIRES ‘FRENCH FOR BUSINESS’ and CCI PARIS ILE-DE-FRANCE EDUCATION are repeated with the header of the page – “Description de la performance AU TEST D’ÉVALUATION DE FRANҪAIS POUR LE CANADA”. The attained NCLC/CEFR levels of the candidate are briefly explained in a summary note for each level based on his/her performance during the test. Lastly, the ALTE ‘Association of Language Testers in Europe’ logo and a short note about them in French is written which states that “La Chambre de commerce et d’industrie de région Paris Ile-de-France, à travers Le franҫais des affaires, est member de plein droit de l’association ALTE, qui réunit les principaux organismes publics concepteurs de tests de langue en Europe”.
