TEF Test is an evaluation of you French Competence and Knowledge. It focuses on examining you on your four (4) main language skills which are the listening, reading, writing and speaking. These skills can be best prepared for when you have the right tools and people training you on how the tests are conducted. There are books, materials and even coaches you can get both freely and for a fee online or even offline where you live, work or study.
TEF Practice Books
There are lots of books that are written to help prepare you for the TEF test, among these books are; TEF Objectif Réussite and TEF 250 activités. These are textbooks written by certified authors from Chambre of Commerce and Industry, Paris. And the books are published by Hachette Livre Français Langue étrangère and CLE International respectively. They train you on the four language skills and even more – vocabulary and structure test too. They come with the audio recordings of their exercises as well. The point to be taken into consideration when getting these books is that they are both meant for intermediate and advanced learners of the French language as they are not suitable for zero beginners or advanced beginners in the language learning process. Other books do not combine all the test skills like they do as they focus on one or two language skills at a time, books like expression orale, révision 450, lexpression orale et écrite, les 500 exercices de grammaire, and so on.
Certified Coaches
A lot of people always think they can take the TEF Canada test on their own and truthfully I love the confidence of these test takers however most times many of them get over confident and lose out in getting good grades from their test scores due to lack of practice before the test with a language coach. I can’t say for you but if you’re seeking to get very good grades in your TEF Canada test with NCLC 8, 8.5 and 9 levels, you just have to engage a French coach who has also taken the test and gotten “braggable” results from his or hers. Certainly, they would have some viable tips and strategies to share with you on how they excelled in the test. Don’t avoid this advice. You can check out competent coaches near you at language schools, online through Google and even YouTube. Get those who have online courses on the language test too.Practice Partners
It always pays to get someone or people like you who are trying to prepare for the TEF Canada test. You can help one another to get ready for the test. You all can take classes with one another, ask questions and solve problems with yourselves being involved and learning from it, speak the French language amongst yourselves and use it as a means of communication before the test fate so that you can fully practice the speaking aspect of the test and get into the conversational competence level that is required of you to have when taking the test. A partner would let you feel at ease when using the language as they mostly would learn from you, they are different from coaches who already know the language and test well, you and your partner can boost your morale in the process of practicing the test questions and this will always help in taking the test.
Audio-Visual Aids
Audio-Visual Aids are language learning materials that would assist both the hearing and sight senses while preparing for the TEF Canada test. A lot of people focus on just the audio recordings provided in the TEF practice books, while the books are helpful, they can’t only do the job. You need to also get aids like films, photographs, graphic designs, classroom instructions, library collections, songs, radio broadcasts, television program talks and so on. These would greatly assist you improve your listening ability and audio-comprehension aptitudes as you prepare for the test. Books are best for reading and writing skills but Audio-Visual materials go far to train you on your speaking and listening skills, you should not shy away from making use of them.Exam Preparation Courses
There is an adage that says: “save the best for last”. I believe so much in it especially for online content writing. The reason is simple, it emphasizes the need for you to pay critical attention to it. When it comes to preparing for TEF Canada test, you can’t afford to not use all that is within your power to train yourself for the test. It costs quite a lot to sit for it, so why not prepare well so that you can excel in it once and quickly use it for what you need it for?Online Language courses have now become a tool that I strongly uphold and recommend to intending test takers. It is more valuable than physical classes if you ask me, why do I say this? Very straightforward! An online course can always be consulted and used anytime with or without the help of a physical language coach guiding you through it but physical classes need the coach to be available in the first place before lecture or practice can take place. Maybe I should talk about the difference between physical class and online course to preparing for TEF Canada test in my subsequent blogpost, if you want that kindly send me a YES, COMPARE THEM in the comment section of this article. So, what I’m saying in a nutshell is that, with an online course, you can literally get the inputs of the language books, language coaches, language partners and even Audio-Visual aids in just one place anywhere you are without even needing to source for any of them yourself. If you don’t have such luxuries in the online course you’re interested in, I suggest you don’t go for it. French for TEF Canada Applicants  for instance is a pack of online courses that I know which has separate courses for French learners in their different levels (beginner, intermediate and advanced) of French learning. The courses also make use of the approved TEF textbooks (TEF réussite and TEF 250 activitès), engage competent language coaches from Nigeria, Benin Republic among other places, have a growing language learning community of various French learners and even 100s of Audio-Visual aids at your disposal. All you need do is just to enrol for any of their courses or coaching sessions and be sure of getting to use these tools and materials freely. There is no better time than now to register, learn French and prepare for TEF Canada test.
