Many anticipating immigrants will always want to know how much they can make in Canada and more precisely the kind of jobs they can get before they move from their country to another first-world country. It is much more important to even apply to and be employed by Canadian employers for lots of high skilled professionals especially if they have somewhat stable jobs or work security in their home countries already. Others focus on how quick they can start businesses in the country before even getting there. And, in all nothing is really bad in strategizing well before moving abroad.

My Own Feedbacks
You would agree with me that the issue of job search and work for both online and offline skilled workers are as important as even the migration itself. More so, the government of Canada wants immigrants to relocate in order for Canadian employers to offer them job opportunities legally. However, I hate to break the truth to you now. If your occupation is not part of the in-demand jobs in Canada, you may just be chasing shadows when it comes to your relocation dream. I would not necessarily give you a list of professions in this article but would just let you know that the first step you need to do when looking for a suitable job in Canada is to know the most sought-after ones there at that particular moment or the ones which have been forecasted to increase in demand soon enough. It is simple to find out really; just check the recent invitations given out to foreign nationals within the past 1-2 months on the official Canadian government or all other provincial and territorial governments website. That is by far the best way you can get the required knowledge you need not through lists or some random guesstimations or predictions by immigration consultants or YouTubers.Available JAPA programs
The regular pathway for temporary and permanent residency applications to Canada is the express entry and work permit visas. Even these programs in themselves have other sub-programs that a candidate can apply to for relocation or foreign work amongst which are Federal Skilled Worker program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, Canadian Experience Class, Temporary Work Permits for Spouses or Partners, Post Graduation Work Permit, Temporary Resident Permit, among others. It is useful to know that all these programs and routes have their own specific eligibility criteria and it would take a ton of time and writeups to exhaust every detail for each but let’s just simplify it for you here. Again, there is nothing to hide. Want to know which routes for temporary or permanent work, check the current and most occurring pathways that applicants get approved to move for work and as of now the 11th December 2022, they are express entry, enhanced provincial nomination, temporary work permits for spouses or partners and post-graduation work permit. The rest could just be a waste of your effort, time and money especially if you are not already in Canada, part of an international company or really in-demand.
Job Offers from Overseas
Definitely, there is an ongoing bias amongst Canadian employers when it comes to recruiting workers. Just like in many first world countries, many of them would prefer to employ workers who are already in Canada, close to their business place and ready to work 9am – 5pm or more Mondays – Sundays if possible. Although, there are still lots of others who are also willing to engage foreign nationals in their home countries before coming to Canada if they possess the skills and abilities they are looking for. No sane employer will look over the opportunity to pay a worker less and get less tax brackets on their revenues or even worker benefits when they can avoid them. That is where the digital nomads and online freelancers strive. The only problem to this issue is that many would-be workers go on sites like Canadian Job Bank, Monster, Indeed and all other platforms, apply the wrong way using wrong CV formats (not resumes), spam employers instead of sending sensible email messages, networking with staff members and ambassadors in those companies for the job and not necessarily hiring managers. Well, our upcoming JAPA (migrate) to Canada in 2023 webinar is coming up in few days to address how you can get job offers from your home country either actively or without even actively seeking for them.Popular Visa Sponsorships
Frankly speaking, it is costly and time consuming for employers to engage foreign workers. The government of Canada has placed stringent regulations to favor in-Canada workers than foreign ones. They even require employers to wait for some weeks or months to advertise their vacancies on Canadian job sites first, pay about $1,000 CAD per foreign worker and get the Labor Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) report before being granted the permission to employ such workers. Worse still, there are many workers who are fighting for just 1 slot where hundreds if not thousands are vouching for that post except if that position is so much rare do we have tens of applicants which are still much if you ask me. Though to be fair, if you are a director or manager with 10+ years of experience, having so many credentials to your name and young or even old enough in the field to beat other 10s of viable employees go ahead with your visa sponsorship quest for high skilled jobs. Also, if you are a janitor, care-giver or any other low-skilled laborer, having few months or years of experience, and can compete with the 1000s or 10,000s qualified applicants, chase the sponsorship. So, I do advice immigrants to sponsor themselves and not wait for employers to do for them. I have found a sure way you can do that without necessarily competing with other candidates but still get better chances than those sets of people. Want to learn about the way? Then, RSVP for this JAPA (migrate) to Canada in 2023 webinar.
Average Wage in Canada
The average hourly wage (pay per hour) in Canada is 57 CAD. This means that the average person in Canada earns approximately 57 CAD (₦19,000) for every worked hour. The hourly wage is the salary paid in one worked hour. Statistics Canada reports that the average salary across the entire country in 2020 was $1,136 (₦370,000) per week. The assumption that the average person worked 52 weeks in the year equates to an annual average salary of $59,059 (₦20 million) per year. If you are making about any of these hourly, weekly or yearly incomes in your home country and you are thinking of relocating to Canada due to the thoughts of making big money here, please just remain in your country because apart from making such monies, you would still surely pay taxes that would reduce your take-home amounts but if you have not started making such huge wages or salaries, consider migrating fast!Various Career or Business Paths
The more I work with Canadian immigration clients, the better I understand that I am geared towards assisting and being understood by my own kind of persons. As for me, I have various career paths, businesses and professional goals, I started my own migration journey with my linguistics career, switched into my IT profession after failed attempts in getting my residency dream and soon might be moving into real estate in Ontario, Canada, and I was never rejected my provincial nomination, permanent residency and job applications till now, so having backgrounds in many occupations is never a limitation. The true issue is the lack of detailed explanation how you got into the various careers and picking one which you wish to use to render your application or job search. In brief, to get a job and make money in Canada, you must choose in every application, job prospect and business offer, the key occupation or deal you want to pursue at that particular point in time and later move into another thing if you so wish.
