Last month, we started explaining the first 7 steps to Express Entry Application. Today, we want to finish up with the last 8 processes towards getting your permanent residency status in Canada through this pathway. If you have not read the previous blog article, kindly do now before continue reading this post. Right from when you are in the pool, you have many options to choose from in order to boost your CRS score and get selected for immigration into Canada.
8. Find a Job with Job Bank to Improve your Score
Did you know that getting a valid job offer from a Canadian employer makes you eligible for 50-200 points under the Express Entry pool? Well, yes! It does and now you know. There are also other benefits for getting such job appointments before or after moving to Canada. Hence, getting a work opportunity can significantly increase your quest for permanent residency in Canada. And, Job Bank has long been the way Canadians find jobs online, as it is free for both employers and candidates to use. It is probably as close to an authoritative list of available jobs in Canada as you will be able to find online, however plenty of employers do not list their job on Job Bank, particularly if they are using a headhunter or a different online resource.
9. Contact Provinces and Territories for Province Nominee Program
One other sure way of getting yourself selected for permanent residency is to have a province or territory show interest in having you as a permanent resident staying in their own geographical area. So, get ahead with a Canadian provincial nomination now! A provincial nomination gives you 600 points out of the total 1200 points in the CRS; thus putting you ahead of other candidate in the express entry pool in obtaining an invitation to apply for permanent resident of Canada. The region Quebec has a special Immigration Policy and the province of Nunavut doesn’t run a Provincial Nomination Program and while some P N P requires a valid job offer from Canadian employer, others don’t.10. Receive ITA (Invitation to Apply)
An invitation to apply is a document issued by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to candidates in the Express Entry pool. With an Invitation to Apply, also known as an ITA, a candidate may apply for Canadian permanent residence. Invited candidates may immigrate to Canada with their accompanying family members, if applicable. This may include a spouse or common-law partner, as well as any dependent children. All accompanying family members must have been included on a candidate’s initial Express Entry profile. Once in the pool, candidates are eligible to be issued an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for the program(s) whose requirements they appear to meet based on the self-declared information in their profile. The ITA is issued to candidates who rank the highest in a round of invitations, based on their score in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). There is always a goal or plan towards the ITA issuance for a particular year. For the most of 2021, the Canadian ITA target has been surpassed and still more ITAs are being issued for the last months of October and I am sure we will still be recording selections in November and December.
11. Arrange Medical and Police Certificates
Mostly after given the ITA, IRCC sends applicants an email message requesting them to fill a complete application on or before 60 days after the date of the selection. In this full application, they are meant to book appointments, go visit the panel of physicians in their respective countries, and get their migration medical exams done. Likewise, these applicants are to also visit their country’s police headquarters to obtain their Police Character Certificate. These two documents help to assure one’s admissibility to Canada.12. Arrange Proof of Funds from your Bank(s)
Even before your selection to the Express Entry or Permanent Residency route to Canada, it is considered mandatory to have some amounts of money to help the transition from your home country to Canada. These amounts are required for both you and your nuclear family even if your spouse or dependent children are not accompanying you to Canada as at the time of your departure. It also ranges based on the current exchange rates of Canadian Dollars to your home country’s currency. You can check how much you and your family need to have in your bank account via this link.
13. Complete Online Application for Immigration
During the application process online, you would be expected to fill some required forms for your permanent residency processing. You can always check these checklists, forms and packages via the guides list on the Canadian Immigration Website. However, you would be sent links together with the email message on your email address stating the forms that you are required to fill either online or physically and send back to the authorities. In the forms, you are to fill in all the information you gathered in your ECA report, IELTS and/or TEF result, Medical and Police Certificates. In fact, you also have to fill in details from your birth certificate, travel documents including international passport and visas, national ID card, resume, and so on.14. Upload all Documents and Submit
At the tail end of the application, all clear scanned copies of your results, reports, certificates, job reference letters, registration documents, government documents, insurance policies, bank account statements, other forms of letters like explanation letters, doctor’s or dentist letters, bills/receipts, invoices, job description, payslips, passport photographs among others will all be uploaded into your profile and perhaps also into your email address from which you will submit them to the IRCC.
15. When Asked, Submit Passport for Visa
As soon as your complete application is received by the IRCC, they would start up processing it and it can take within 6 months or less or even more due to the impact of Covid19 on the backlog of applications. Yet, when they are satisfied with your application and its details, you would be asked through your email address to submit your passport and that/those of your family members (if applicable) for the documentation of your visas to successfully migrate to Canada. Our Role in your Application
